Covid detection will be through WhatsApp, launch X-Ray Setu
Covid can now be identified through WhatsApp. A senior official at AI and robotics body Artpark said the Artificial Intelligence-based X-Ray Setu powered by WhatsApp would help identify Covid from now on. Umakant Soni, CEO of the non-profit organization Artpark, told PTI that the X-Ray Setu, developed in collaboration with start-up Niramai and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), detects COVID-19 using ordinary X-ray, which Currently processing is done using an AI system in the backend without any fee.
Geeta Manjunath, founder, CEO and CTO of Niramai, said the goal of X-Ray Setu is to create an ecosystem for affordable screening in rural areas and rapid screening of lung infections such as Covid, pneumonia, tuberculosis, etc. At present, RT-PCR testing of people is delayed in many places due to the massive infection of Kovid, and even after the test is done, a large number of people are sometimes misreported. X-Ray Setu will play an important role in such fields. According to Manjunath, X-Ray Setu, RT-PCR and CT scan can be a supplement.
The X-Ray Setu will allow doctors to upload X-ray scans of suspected patients and detect COVID-19. Typically, this is done through CT scan or RT-PCR testing, but these technologies are not yet available in a large part of rural India, and thus X-Ray Setu can greatly help the country in its fight against coronavirus. Most notably, the X-Ray Setu WhatsApp bot can automatically scan and process and generate reports within 10-15 minutes.
Sony said the technology has been around for the past week and 500 doctors have used it. In addition, there are plans to build a strong network of 10,000 trained doctors to use the X-Ray Setu more extensively over the next 15 days, so that the third wave of covid can be easily dealt with and rural doctors can benefit.
He added that as of March 31, 2019, there are 5,335 Rural Community Health Centers (CHCs) in India, which can be used for this purpose. And from private estimates, two-thirds of them have a functional X-ray machine and a technician to operate it. Sony noted, “We are doing our best to reach all the places where X-ray machines are installed. We will not charge any fees for the next 6-8 months. Even on a paid basis, it will be less than Rs 100 per test. ”
In addition to supporting IISc-promoted Artpark technology innovation, Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems for development of AI and robotics facilities and 23 crores from the Department of Science and Technology under the National Mission of the Government of Karnataka. Got it.
Shubhashis Banerjee, co-founder and chief information officer at Artpark (AI and Robotics Technologies Park), says X-Ray Setu can help patients with first aid, which takes more than 24 hours for RT-PCR tests and in some cases 3-4 You have to wait for days. However, he said that some qualitative parameters may be added to the X-Ray Setu keeping in mind the effect of strong radiation of CT scan.
