FaceTime: Now Android users will also be able to use this popular video calling app of Apple
Apple’s WWDC 2021 began on Monday, June 7. During this, Apple made a big announcement for the FaceTime app. There is a great app that was exclusive to iOS until now. But, now the company is bringing it to Windows via Android and Web. This also means that FaceTime will now compete with other apps like Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet.
During the WWDC conference, the company confirmed that iOS users will be able to share a link to a FaceTime meeting with non-Apple device users. This will be a big change. Because, from the beginning till now, this popular video calling app was limited to iOS and Mac only.
Along with this, Apple has also added many new features like the schedule call option on FaceTime. With this, it will compete with Zoom. Through this, iOS 15 will allow users to schedule FaceTime video or audio calls with friends. Be it on any device.
Talking about other apps announced for FaceTime, now a new share-play will also be available here. Through this, users will be able to watch movies, listen to songs, or watch any gameplay in sync with friends.
During the keynote, Apple demonstrated that users can play songs, videos, or anything else on the screen during a FaceTime call, and other friends will be able to view the same content while in the call. This feature will use picture-in-picture to show other members.
We can expect all the new FaceTime features to be available with iOS 15. Its rollout can be done from September.
