Google Maps tries to determine your location by providing relevant information. This is also its main function.
Failure to do so will result in unused Google Maps. The blue dot that appears on Google Maps specifically refers to the location of the map user.
This is an important feature of the Google Maps application. This is a good thing if you see a blue dot when using Google Maps.
From here, Google Maps determines your location. It makes sure you know where you are.
Technically, it gives you navigation directions. On the other hand, if you do not see the blue dot and see the grey color in its place, then Google Maps cannot find your immediate location.
In this case, Google shows your last location on the map. But since the map does not provide information about this, decide for yourself whether your last location shown by Google has been found or not.
When Google Maps can’t determine your location, you’ll see a light blue circle outside the blue dot.

When such a sign appears, your map may indicate any location. The smaller the circle, the more accurate the app is in terms of your location. Pay close attention to such things.
How does the map know the location?
Like other navigation apps, Google Maps uses the GPS sensor inside your phone to determine the location and show it as a blue dot. This method allows Google Maps to determine your location up to 20 meters.
However, this is not the best way to determine the location. But over time, that is likely to change.

Google has also begun to identify your Wi-Fi location. If you are on a wireless network, this application uses your information to extract accurate data.
And can show your location on the map using GPS details. If you don’t have GPS or Wi-Fi, Google Maps will find your location by opening cellular details.
But in such a case, the reality is likely to decline. According to Google, the location is measured up to a thousand meters.
So it is not advisable to use this method while traveling. In this case, you can use high accuracy (close to the truth) mode.
For this, go to High Accuracy by going to Location Mode from Settings inside Android Device. But sometimes Google Maps can be a problem because of the updates that are installed on your phone, even though everything is available to help determine the location.
