On Monday, Union Minister of State Rajiv Chandrashekhar said that this operating system will be prepared as an alternative to Google’s Android and Apple iOS.

In an interview with PTI, the Union Minister said that mobile phones are currently dominated by two operating systems – Google Android and Apple iOS, which also affect the hardware ecosystem.
What is planning?
Chandrashekhar said, ‘Since, there is no third operating system present. Therefore, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Government of India is taking interest in creating a new operating system. I am talking to people. We are also working on the policy for this.
He said that the government is looking at the capability in both the startup and academic ecosystem sectors to develop indigenous operating systems.

Why does the government want to bring an operating system?
Explain that the operating system is the main software of a computer or mobile phone, on which the device works. The Union Minister of State said that if there is really any potential in this sector, then we have a lot of interest in developing it. Because it will become an alternative to iOS and Android, which will allow an Indian brand to move forward.
Rajiv Chandrashekhar has given this information in a program with Communications and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. Both people released the second volume of the Vision Document on Electronics Manufacturing, which has been prepared by ICEA. In this document, a road map has been presented to take electronics manufacturing in the country to US $ 300 billion by the year 2026. At present, this figure stands at $75 billion.
