Twitter is going to start its verification process from today. This process was stopped for almost three years. Now after the verification process starts again, many more accounts will be able to get the blue tick mark. The company said that it is relaunching the self-serve application so that people can apply for verification.

The micro-blogging platform stopped the verification process from 16 November 2017. While stating the reason for the closure, Twitter had said that the blue tick was being seen as an endorsement and was facing difficulty in perception. Twitter has said that it has received recommendations to add many more new categories. These include academics, scientists, and other religious leaders. In such a situation, the company can add a dedicated category for them after some time this year. But till then, if you fall in these categories, then you can qualify in the Activist, Organizers, and other Personal Influencers category.

Bluetick can be removed from these accounts

A user’s blue badge can then be removed. If the user changes his account name or remains incomplete or inactive. For example, any officer who has left that post. The company has said that blue verified badges and verified status can be removed without notice. Also, violations of Twitter regulations will also be removed from the blue badge account.
