The Indian government has launched Sandes to compete with WhatsApp. The work has been going on for a long time and it was left for a limited number of users.
It is noteworthy that State Electronics and IT Minister Rajiv Chandrasekhar gave this information in a written reply to the Lok Sabha. This instant messaging platform was created by the National Informatics Center.

Speaking of the National Informatics Center, it comes under the Ministry of IT. Sandes’ work style is similar to WhatsApp’s and its logo also seems to be inspired by WhatsApp.
Responding to a question, the minister said it has set up a national information center under NIC i.e. MeitY. This application is for instant messaging.
According to Rajiv Chandrasekhar, Sandes is hosted on an open source based secure cloud enabled platform. Because its strategic control is with the Government of India. This platform has many features. Single chat, group messaging, file sharing and audio video calls can also be made from it.

Is this app competing with WhatsApp?
It can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store. You must enter a phone number after downloading. You can sign up for this application via OTP. Now it will be interesting to see if the encryption is given at the end.

It is claimed that no third party can read the chat without the sender or receiver, not even the company. In this case, it is not possible to say whether the encryption message will end up.
If this app does not have end-to-end encryption, it cannot compete with WhatsApp. Because ending encryption is a big deal in terms of user privacy. Applications’ data can be accessed by third parties without end-to-end encryption.
