Last year, Apple fulfilled its promise to its users through this year’s World-Wide Developers Conference. During the conference’s “Move Beyond Passwords” session, Apple unveiled Face ID and Touch ID technology, which allows users to sign up for a website or app without a password.
Named ‘PassKiz’, the technology allows users to use their Face ID or Touch ID, not a password, to sign up for a website. To register on a website that supports this feature, you can now use Face ID or Touch ID instead of the password with the username you want.

Apple has said it will test the feature on iPhones, iPads, and Macs later this year.
PassKiz technology is part of the iCloud ecosystem, based on the web authentication protocol of FIDA, the Fast Identity Online Alliance. Apple joined the Alliance for Password Free Authentication support only last year.
According to Apple, this method is very secure for authentication and also helps to prevent phishing attacks. However, this technology cannot be used on devices outside of Apple’s ecosystem. If the user is using Apple ID on another device, they will need to use a password.

Google and Microsoft already use biometric authentication without passwords or hardware such as UBK to log in. According to data released by Microsoft in March, about 200 million accounts are currently using the login method without a password.
