As a follower of one of the best-rugged phones we have ever seen, the Blackview BV9900 had some great filling caps. However, we tested the device a few months ago and it completely pressed us.

Although it is less expensive than the BV9800 Pro, with a slight improvement over the full replacement, that does not mean that the BV9900 Pro is not special.

Considering one smartphone feature that catches everyone’s attention, it’s a hot camera. Already found in the likes of Cat S62, Cat S60, and Cat S61, hot cameras allow you to produce colorful images provided by nearby heat sources.

Until recently, thermal cameras were only available as covert products (usually FLIR) or on limited and inexpensive smartphones.

Blackview changed all that, with wave calls that included a FLIR Lepton warm sensor with a very affordable tag.

The BV9900 Pro uses a Sony IMX586 48-megapixel sensor – also available on the Honor 20 Pro and OnePlus 7T – and features a 5.84-inch FHD + (with Corning Gorilla Glass 5), large 4.38Ah battery, -8GB of RAM, 128GB onboard memory, high-end Mediatek P90 8-core SOC camera, and 16-megapixel front-facing camera.

In addition, it has no VOC sensor but includes Android 9 Pie (soon to be upgraded to Android 10), IP69 / Mil-STD-810G certificate, wireless charging, NFC, air pressure detection, and face/finger opening.

If you are marketing a new rugged device, the BV9900 Pro would be a good choice.
