However, not everyone can upgrade to the latest version of Windows. This is because many older computers do not meet the minimum requirements for installing Windows 11.
However, many people do not have a compatible PC, so they tend to use unofficial copies of the operating system. However, the risk of personal and financial information being hijacked is increasing.
If your PC does not support Windows 11, it would be wise to buy a new PC. However, you should refrain from using unofficial installers from fake websites or links.
HP’s Threat Research team has found a domain that has been created by copying Microsoft’s website. This website contains a lot of malicious code in the Windows-Upgraded.com domain.
According to the report, HP researchers found another fake domain similar to Microsoft’s official page. In the meantime, most of the harmful links have been blocked. However, some links are still active. A zip file called Windows 11 Installation Assistant has been found on the computers of users who have downloaded malicious installation files online. According to the report, the file contains six Windows DLLs of 1.5 MB, one XML, and one portable executable file. After unzipping the file, users see the 753 MB folder. The executable file is 651 MB.
When you download Windows 11 installer from the site, a zip file is downloaded. In fact, it is not a Windows 11 installer. It contains malicious malware called Redline. With which cybercriminals steal personal information, browser cookies, banking information, and cryptocurrency wallet data.
