The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), a representative body of the Indian telecommunications industry, on Friday pleaded with all citizens not to be affected by the news.
Dr. SP Kochhar (Lieutenant General), Director General of COẠI, said in a recent statement, “We make it clear that these rumors are absolutely false. We urge the people not to be influenced by such baseless misinformation. Several countries around the world have already launched 5G networks and people are using these services safely. Even the World Health Organization has made it clear that there is no connection between 5G technology and Covid-19. We have informed the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) of our concerns and informed them of the current situation. I urge all citizens to beware of these fake messages. Only if we all unite and fight against it will this kind of news stop spreading. ”
