Explain that the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the second President of the country, falls on September 5, and in his honor, this day is celebrated as Teachers’ Day. Let me tell you that in the year 1962 when Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was the President, some of his old students used to come to meet him on his birthday, and then he expressed his wish that my birthday should be celebrated as Teachers’ Day. It will be a matter of honor. Since then till today, every year in the country celebrates his birthday as Teachers’ Day.
