There is particularly strong demand for the iPhone 12 in Taiwan, with one carrier claiming to have sold its pre-sale quota in 45 minutes.

The iPhone 12 has already proven successful in Taiwan because the new generation iPhone is already sold in many carriers.

Telecom operators Chungwa Telecom (CHT), Far East Telecommunications (FET), and Taiwan Mobile opened pre-orders for the iPhone 12 on October 14, Digitimes reported.

CHT claims that 65% of pre-orders are for the iPhone 12. FET reports that pre-orders for the first day of the iPhone 12 were three times higher than the iPhone 11 last year. In addition, 50 percent FET. Their pre-orders are for the iPhone 12 Pro.

Digitimes believes that the iPhone 12 lineup will help accelerate demand for 5G replacement from 4G models. Taiwan expects to see one million 5G service subscribers by the end of 2020 or the first quarter of 2021.

Apple announced the iPhone 12 lineup on October 13 at its “Hi, Speed” event. In addition to the iPhone 12, they also released the new HomePod Mini and MagSafe accessories for the iPhone 12.
