Samsung is above Xiaomi in the third quarter of this year. This company has been number-1 in the Indian smartphone market for a long time, but will it again stay at number-1?
South Korean tech company Samsung has lagged behind Xiaomi in the Indian smartphone market for two consecutive years. Now Samsung has once again been number-1.
According to market research firm Counter Point’s data, Samsung has a market share of 24% in the third quarter of 2020. Talking about Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi, this company has a market share of up to 23%.
As of last year i.e. the third quarter of 2019, Xiaomi’s market share has decreased slightly. This is also possible due to the ongoing border tension in India-China.
It is worth mentioning that according to the report of the market research firm CounterPoint, during the same quarter two years ago, Xiaomi left Samsung behind and became number-1.
According to CounterPoint, Xiaomi has come in at number-2 for the first time after the third quarter of 2018. However, this situation is not expected to last long and Xiaomi may be number-1 again in the next quarter.
Since Xiaomi has fiercely sold smartphones within the last one to two months and the company has got a good response in the festive season too.
So it is too early to be said that Samsung has become the number-1 smartphone company in India for a long time. Because Samsung has a difference of 1% in market share compared to Xiaomi.
