This Facebook app has been downloaded over 5 billion times on the Play Store
Another Facebook app has crossed the 5 billion download mark on the Google Play Store. This week Facebook Messenger became the app to be downloaded 5 billion times. Earlier, in non-Google apps, Facebook and WhatsApp crossed this mark.
Many of Google’s apps on the Google Play Store have crossed this milestone. This includes the names of apps such as YouTube, Google Maps, and Gmail. Now the names of Facebook and Facebook Messenger have also been included in this list.
Apart from Google apps, only Facebook apps are apps that cross the 5 billion download mark. Facebook app crossed this milestone in the year 2019. After this, WhatsApp crossed this benchmark in early 2020.
The updated Install counter on the Google Play Store was first spotted by Android Police. Now Facebook has only one major app Instagram has to cross this milestone. Let me tell you, the number of pre-loaded apps is also shown in the install counter.
Facebook and Facebook Messenger are pre-installed in some Android apps. That number is also counted in it. However, it does not include apps installed from third-party app stores and APK files.
Recently, the beta version of Audio Based App Clubhouse has been made available for Android users. It is reported that Facebook is also working on a similar feature. In this, users will be able to talk to their friends and fans together through audio chat.
