According to the authority, the latest generation i.e. 5G phones can cause disruption during the flight of an airplane. According to the report of the French agency, 5G devices on the flight can interfere with measuring altitude, which is necessary for the landing of any plane. It has been said that there are many similarities in the frequency of the two, which is causing difficulty in reading the altitude.
Added conditions for 5G base station
In this case, DGAC has added some terms and conditions for installing a 5G base station at the airport, so that there is no risk while landing the flights. The signal strength from 5G base stations near France’s main airports has also been restricted. In addition, 5G base stations around all French airports are being monitored in collaboration with the agency responsible for radio frequencies.
Advise to keep the phone in switch off or flight mode
According to the French Civil Aviation Authority, mobiles previously interfered with the previous generation of telecommunication networks, plane navigation, and telecommunication equipment.
