WhatsApp: These features, including calls, will be discontinued if the new policy is not approved, deadline tomorrow
The date for accepting the new privacy policy on WhatsApp has been kept on 15 May. WhatsApp has said that it will not delete the accounts of users who will not accept its new privacy policy. WhatsApp also said that the app functions of users who do not accept the privacy policy will be reduced.
This function includes many basic features of WhatsApp. That is, users will not be able to use only the basic features of WhatsApp. Earlier the company had said that WhatsApp users will have to accept the privacy policy or else the account will be deleted.
Now it has been said by WhatsApp that the account will not be deleted but the function will be significantly limited. To use the app completely, you will have to express the privacy policy in any case. Apart from this, no option has been given.
If you do not accept the privacy policy, users will be asked to express the policy by showing a notification every time they open the app. Bypassing this, you have to accept it to go to the message list or to send the message to the account.
In a statement given to The Guardian, the company said that after a few weeks of limited functionality, you will not receive incoming calls or notifications on WhatsApp. At this point, users will have to select whether they will choose a new privacy policy or not. In case the privacy policy is not cleared, the user will have to delete the app.
Earlier, in January, WhatsApp started giving notifications of the privacy policy. In this, the deadline was given till 8 February. After the protest from the users, the company increased this deadline to 15 May. Many users angry with this policy are going towards other messaging platforms Signal and Telegram.
