Disney + Hotstar has added a new feature called #Watch with Years or ‘Watch with your friends’, which allows users to video chat with friends while watching live coverage of cricket matches on a single screen. IPL 2020 is currently online, ending in the finals and this feature can be used for existing features.
Earlier this season, Disney + Hotstar VIP added some new features to its interactive watch Enplay social feed. Users can share selfies with videos using the ‘Hot Shots’ feature and another feature called ‘Duets’. Another addition to the platform is ‘Watch with your friends’ who want to enjoy competition with your friends for company
To use this feature, all you have to do is add your friends by clicking on the ‘Start Video Call’ feature below the live match stream. You can add up to five friends to a video chat. The chat opens in portrait mode and has volume control options to listen to the sports commentary through the conversation and customize the experience of each participant. If connectivity is low, you can also choose to be part of the conversation using the ‘Audio Only’ option.
There is video synchronization between participants to make sure there are no spoilers, make sure it is not behind the stream and that everyone on the network will see the exact feed of the same match.
Starting with the Dream 11 IPL 2020 play-offs, all Disney + Hotstar subscribers can use the ‘See with your friends’ feature.
The annual subscription price for the Disney + Hotstar VIP is Rs 9,399 and subscribers will have access to two IPL tournaments, including the Asia Cup and other BCCI tournaments. The plan gives users access to newly released movies and some Hotstar specials on the platform.
