The Zepp Z smartwatch was launched in India in the month of July. This is a premium smartwatch and is priced at Rs 25,999 in the country. We have used it for a long time and now we are going to tell you its review. This watch has a premium look with built-in Alexa as well as features like GPS and blood oxygen sensor.
Display and design:
This premium watch features a 1.39-inch (454×454 pixels) AMOLED touch display with 550nits peak brightness. The dial-in this watch is round in shape. The body of the watch is made of TC4 titanium alloy. There are three buttons on the right side of this watch. The middle button is the rotating crown. Whereas, the top button is the Health Key. As for the display, it is bigger than the watch. Also, the graphics look great because of the AMOLED panel. On the other hand, users will not have any problem with the brightness.
The watch is very lightweight to wear. There are no rough edges anywhere. Being a titanium alloy, the body look also looks quite premium. You will also get very good haptic feedback during Touch in Watch. This watch is made of strap leather. They are also quite comfortable to wear. This watch titanium is also water-resistant up to 50 meters. That means you can also swim by wearing it. It is compatible with both Android and iOS. Overall, the look of the watch is quite premium and sober. It will look better with a professional outfit.
The Zepp Z smartwatch can be paired with the Zepp app. This app is very simple to operate. The watch also supports Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity. Connectivity remains stable here. Users will find a lot of sports modes here for fitness. There is also a built-in GPS to track location without a smartphone. We also found the tracking results of the watch to be quite accurate.
Speaking of the user interface, it is quite clean and easy to use. The watch’s touch response is also quite fast and smooth. We never felt lag while operating the watch. Most importantly, this watch has a built-in Alexa. That is, it can be given voice command. At the same time, this watch also accepts some commands offline. To activate Alexa, users have to hold down the rotating crown for a while.
It also has features for health like a 24×7 heart rate monitor, blood oxygen sensor, stress monitor, and sleep monitor. However, to check the blood oxygen level, you have to wear the watch very tight and we found the result wrong many times. Because the output of the oximeter was showing quite differently from the watch. Similarly, the watch has to be kept quite stable to monitor stress.
Let me tell you, this watch will also have features like Weather, Music, Alarm, Event, Barometer, Compass, Countdown, Timer, and Find Mobile. However, you will not find support for third-party apps here. Also, not much storage is provided here. The good thing is that the screen of the watch can also be locked. Through the watch, users will also receive notifications of messages and calls. But, you will see an error in the notifications in Hindi font. However, users will only be able to read the message here and will not be able to reply. Also, there is no built-in speaker for receiving calls. Since the watch is more expensive, it could offer some more health-based features like a blood pressure monitor.
As far as the battery is concerned, this watch takes about 3 hours to be fully charged and in regular use, it can be comfortably run for two weeks i.e. 14 days. It also has a battery-saving mode, in which only the step tracker works and time is visible. The overall battery performance is amazing.
The Zepp Z is a premium watch. This watch offers many features like the premium look, build quality, good battery life, and built-in Alexa. However, users will not get features like calling functions and instant replies for messages. Also, some health-based features could be added. In that case, this watch is definitely a bit more expensive according to the given features. But, users who are more interested in look and battery can invest in it. It will compete with the recently launched Fossil Gen 6 in the Indian market with a starting price of Rs 23,995.
