WhatsApp will bring a bunch of features including community tab, camera interface, new rules will also come in the case of forwarded messages
Like the speculation, WhatsApp is going to introduce new rules for forwarding messages in its group chat. It is also known that the platform will work on some new features.
Rolling out new features to enhance the user experience is nothing new for WhatsApp, the world’s most popular instant messaging platform! According to recent reports, the company is now working on a bunch of new features for its mobile application. These features will be available in beta versions of both Android (Android) and iOS (iOS). It is learned that WhatsApp is working to ensure that users do not send multiple forwarded messages to more than one group at a time. Again, the company is expected to introduce a dedicated community tab that will replace the existing Camera tab in iOS. In addition, the messaging app has been seen to test an updated camera interface for Android users. So let’s take a look at the benefits that users will get if these features are rolled out.
Forwarded message send
According to WhatsApp’s feature tracker WABetaInfo, the company will soon be blocking the forwarding of messages to multiple groups. Simply put, no forwarded messages can be sent to more than one group at a time. As a result, the spread of fake news can be stopped at least a little bit, the agency said. Keep in mind that this restriction only applies to messages that have already been forwarded by users. In other words, any message sent to users through the app will not be affected by this rule.
So, if users want to send a message labeled Forwarded, it will no longer be possible to send it to multiple group chats at once. To send that message to multiple group chats, users need to forward it to each group individually. Earlier, users could send such a regular message to a maximum of 5 people at a time, i.e. 5 chats. But sending multiple times through users, that is, a forwarded message could be sent to only one chat at a time. This time the same rules are going to appear in the case of the group. As a result, it is not necessary to say that users will have to take a little risk to send messages to multiple groups after chatting.
This feature has already been seen in iOS beta version 22.8.0.6. WABetaInfo confirmed this by sharing a screenshot. Note that this feature was first seen in Android beta version 2.22.8.2 last month. Currently, this feature is also known to be effective in the Android beta 2.22.8.11 version. In other words, it is very clear that the company is committed to bringing this feature to prevent the spread of fake news. Exactly when this feature will have a stable rollout is not yet known.
New Community tab
In addition, the company is reportedly working on a new community tab for its mobile application. This feature allows group admins to add specific groups to the “community”. And then these groups will be listed together under the Community tab. WABetaInfo reports that this community tab feature is currently under development. This feature has been seen in the latest WhatsApp beta version of Android 2.22.8.9. Note that WABetaInfo also shared a screenshot of this community tab icon, where the new version of the community tab icon was seen replacing the existing camera icon in iOS.
New camera interface
Currently, WhatsApp is also seen working on a new camera interface for Android users. WABetaInfo also said that this feature is being tested in Android beta version 2.22.8.11. Sharing a few screenshots, WhatsApp’s feature tracker said that the interface will include a new media picker with tabs for recent photos and galleries. In addition, the camera’s media bar, which was previously removed from iOS, will be added to the new update.
