Good news for WhatsApp users, new privacy settings are coming for profile photos
WhatsApp will help the user to hide profile photos from certain contacts
But now WhatsApp-related news portal WABetaInfo has reported that the feature has been seen in the new Android beta version of the platform (version 2.21.21.2) for profile photos. This means that at the beginning of the profile photo ‘My contacts except…’ (My Contacts except) privacy option is expected.
Evidence of the ‘My Contacts Except’ option is found in a screenshot shared by WABetaInfo. This new setting will help WhatsApp users keep their profile photos disabled (read and hide) from certain contacts – just like the options match when sharing a story or status.
Earlier, the My Contacts Except privacy setting was also seen in the iOS version of WhatsApp. In that case, we expect that the feature will be available in the iOS version along with Android soon. But keep in mind that beta users will get the feature at the beginning.
WhatsApp will have a Global Voice Message Player feature
In addition to the settings mentioned, WhatsApp is working on another feature. It is known that this feature allows users to chat and open any section of the app, but the voice message player will be visible and will run in the background like a normal video player. This new voice message playback feature is currently being tested in the iOS beta version of WhatsApp. Although the company is expected to make it available to Android very soon.
