According to Reddit user Gyrohan269, when you open Windows Explorer and then close it, its used RAM increases by a few MB. Whereas it should have reduced when it was closed.
Understand this with an example like this – when the PC was turned on, the Windows explorer used 60MB of RAM. When a random folder was opened again, it reached 80Mb.
Now when this window was closed it was using 70Mb and not 60Mb. He further wrote in the post that when he opens and closes a folder several times, the RAM usage reaches up to 1GB.
According to the user, the RAM usage keeps increasing till you restart File Explorer from Task Manager or restart the machine.
RAM used can be checked from Task Manager. This bug has been reported on the Microsoft Feedback Hub but the company has not yet responded.
