Google Photos: Good news, now all Android phone users can hide private photos
Users will be able to access locked folders in Google Photos
Google announced in June this year that it would implement a locked folder feature to secure users’ personal photos securely on their phones. This feature will allow users to hide selected photos and videos from the app’s main grid search. So far, the feature is only available for Pixel phones. However, Google said that the photo lock feature was initially available on the Pixel phone, it will be available on iPhone and other Android devices by the end of 2021.
According to a recent report, the company has been able to keep its promise. Because this feature is now also available in non-pixel phones. Android Police first published this news in their report. In the report, they shared a screenshot of the Samsung Galaxy A52, where users were seen receiving notifications about this new feature. When users swipe the notification, they will be able to access the locked folder in Google Photos.
I tell you that this Google Photos locked folder feature allows users to hide photos or videos that they don’t want others to see. This is a password-protected place where selected photos can be stored privately The feature was first announced at the Google I / O event in June of this year.
Please note that photos and videos added to locked folders cannot be backed up or shared. A user can open a photo or video in a locked folder by following the steps below:
“Library” tab> “Utilities”> “Locked folder”.
It’s a safe place to store user photos that users won’t even be able to take screenshots of once inside. For the media in this folder, users can do only two things: they can permanently delete it or remove it from the locked folder.
