WhatsApp, owned by Meta Group, now offers UPI-based money transfer services. This popular messaging platform has emerged as a strong competitor to companies like PhonePe, Google Pay and Paytm. Using WhatsApp Payments, interested people can freely exchange money with friends, relatives, and acquaintances on the app’s contact list, which is definitely a timely feature.
WhatsApp Payments was recognized by the National Payments Corporation of India or NPCI in the year 2020. Since then, WhatsApp has gradually rolled out this feature to its customers.
It is important to provide a 4-6 digit UPI PIN for each financial transaction using WhatsApp’s Payments feature. Other UPI-based payment apps also use this method to exchange money. However, compared to those applications, WhatsApp is new to money transfer, so many users are not aware of what to do in case of forgetting its UPI PIN or applying for a new UPI PIN. Therefore, in the present report, we will provide all the important information to those who are unaware of the subject.
