Because of this people were facing a lot of problems in running the internet. Internet service is still closed in many areas due to different reasons. In such a situation, people are facing difficulty in accessing payment apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, and PayTM apart from social media apps.
Social media apps cannot run without the internet, but if you have registered UPI then you can also transact offline. For this, we are telling you the complete method here.
The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) launched the USSD service *99#. It can also be used by non-smartphone users. For this, you just need to have a registered SIM card on your phone.
To do an offline UPI transaction, you have to first go to your phone’s dial pad and dial *99#. After that click on the call option. Here you will get options like send money, receive money, check balance.

To send money, you have to reply by pressing 1 on the dial pad. With this, you will be able to transfer money on mobile number, UPI ID, bank account number, and IFSC code. You will have to re-enter the details of whichever option you select.
For example, if you want to send money on UPI ID, then you have to enter the UPI ID of the beneficiary. After this, you have to enter the amount of money you want to send. Lastly, by entering the UPI PIN, select Send. Money will be transferred.
