Apple pushes iPhone production in India
It is not unknown to any of us that the second corona outbreak is affecting the normal life of India as well as the industrial establishments. Most of the employees of most of the companies are falling prey to this deadly killer infection, as a result of which all the activities related to it are suspended very naturally. This time Corona’s terrible claw fell on a pair of iPhone manufacturers in India. It has recently been reported that multiple factories in India, run by Apple’s supply chain partners Foxconn and Wistron, have been damaged by the second wave of Covid-19.
Foxconn confirmed earlier this week that 10 Chinese engineers at the company’s Chennai plant had been infected with the Covid-19. Upon learning of this, the infected workers were isolated at a local hospital and the factory was temporarily closed for sanitation.
A similar incident took place at Wistron’s factory in Kolar, Karnataka, where three Taiwanese engineers tested positive for Covid-19. According to My Smart Price, the factory was evacuated for sanitation and all operations were suspended for five days after the news broke. It is reopened as soon as the sanitation work is completed.
Foxconn said in a statement to the Central News Agency that their factory was open in India and that they were providing all necessary assistance to its workers to fight the epidemic. They further said that they will fully abide by all the rules taken by the local government in the future by witnessing the daily movement of the epidemic.
