Experimenting with the ever-new features of WhatsApp, a messaging app owned by Facebook, is nothing new. For the convenience of the users, this messaging platform always comes up with many features which prove to be quite effective. Last November, a fun feature called ‘Disappearing Messages’ was added to this instant messaging platform, which, when enabled, automatically deletes certain chats after seven days. However, soon WhatsApp users will get another option to delete messages in addition to 7 days.

According to a report from WhatsApp’s feature tracker, WABetainfo, the messaging app is working to add a timer option to delete messages after 24 hours in its ‘Disappearing Messages’ feature, which is currently set at 7 days. This feature will be rolled out soon for iOS, Android and Web / Desktop.
Note that WhatsApp’s ‘Disappearing Message’ feature is not a default setting, but can be turned on / off individually for normal chats. With the launch of this new feature, WhatsApp users will be able to set the time to 7 days or 24 hours to activate ‘Disappearing Messages’ in the coming days.

Incidentally, WhatsApp recently introduced the ability to change the speed of voice message playback for their Android beta users. As a result, if someone sends a voice message, it can be heard up to 1x / 1.5x / 2x (1x, 1.5x, 2x) faster.
